If your generator failed during an outage, call. For a new install, a transfer switch or a maintenance visit, send a request and a local company will call you back.
Before you call
It helps to have:
- Your address, so the right local company gets your request
- What you need: a new generator, a transfer switch, maintenance or a repair
- Whether your home has natural gas service or would need propane
- For an existing unit, its make, model and any fault code on the display
- What you most want powered in an outage: AC, a well pump, medical equipment
Using a portable generator while you wait? Run it outdoors, more than 20 feet from windows, doors and vents, never in a garage, and keep a battery-powered carbon monoxide alarm in the house. Never plug it into a wall outlet.
